The name "Canyon Country" is accurate: the roads and homes in this part of the Santa Clarita Valley are built along the many canyons in the area. And the views from many of the the homes are utterly spectacular! In the older neighborhoods near the bottoms of the canyon are modest and more affordable ranch style homes built in the 1960s. Almost all the businesses and shopping areas are located along the roads that wind along the lower parts of Soledad Canyon Road. More recently, condo communities have been built along Soledad Canyon. Huge new developments in Canyon Country are springing up to accommodate the growth in the Santa Clarita Valley. There are, however, still areas further up the canyons that remain rural horse properties and working ranches. Country life and city life meet here.
